About 5,000 peoples throng Kapit Town Square to witness the launching of 'Layar Bestari' by the Information Minster, Dato' Ahmad Shabery Cheek. 'Layar Bestari' is a new version of the 'free film show' once the main attraction to gather people so that the Information Officer could dessiminate relevant information to the public. Despite the drizzles, the crowd stayed to watch the film 'I'm Not Single' . Some pessimist might say its a step backward but as one audience comment,' it is a very nostalgic moment to be among the crowd witnessing the revival of the 'wayang free' because I grew up and learned many things during that era'.

Flood in Marudi Town, Miri Sarawak

The flood in Baram area badly affected the lives of more than 8,000 peoples in Marudi. Water level rise to 3 feet on the first day (26 Oktober) cutting of food supplies and petrol to the district. Marudi District Disaster Committee took to the task of sending help and food supplies to areas affected by flood.

Bullying Issue in Sarawak BN

The political turmoil amongst the BN component parties in Semenanjung now descent on Sarawak political scenario with the issue of bullying as mentioned by Beginda Minda of PRS supported by Nanta Chaku. Though PRS President and Veep's denied such claims it has created uneasiness among the Sarawak BN component parties. SUPP boss, Dr.Chan refuted such thing never happens while the Chief Minister himself urged all parties not to prolong and blow up the issue. Hopefully BN will look into this matter seriously as the malay proverb says "Masakan pokok bergoyang jika tiada angin"

Penans In Sarawak

The Penans issue being raised by Bruno Manser Foundations highlighting their perils at the hands of the loggers seem to attract not only the international NGO's but suddenly our nation NGO's who all this while have never even mentioned the Penans of Sarawak in their development programme. It puzzled me as to why suddenly these NGO's took a keen interest in the welfare of the Sarawak Penans. In my opinion the government of Sarawak have never ever neglected the welfare nor their living development and have spent millions to uplift their livelihood. Penans are shy people, very humble and have a very accomodative attitude. By championing their plight to world does not mean NGO's are helping them, in fact it brought more sorrow to these humble tribe because all sorts of International NGO's will come and take advantages of them. Please stop the accusations and lets the authorities such as the police to carry out their investigation before these so call NGO's start pointing fingers on who's who is responsible.

Kebanjiran Pendatang Indonesia ke Malaysia

Isu kebanjiran pendatang asing tidak pernah diselesaikan, khususnya warga Indonesia. Tapi tak boleh salahkan mereka juga kerana Malaysia merupakan 'lombong emas' bagi mereka. Malah ada yang menganggap Malaysia sebagai 'rumah kedua' mereka. Manakan tidak...cuba perhatikan rancangan hiburan kita di ASTRO dan stesen-stesen televisyen lain. Dari TV1, TV2, TV3, TV7, TV8, TV9 dan Astro berlumba-lumba nak tayangkan SINETRON Indonesia. Lepas tu siap dengan ulangan filem-filem dan sinetron yang popular.. Adakah drama-drama Malaysia di tayangkan di Indonesia? Cuba lah pihak-pihak yang 'berkuasa' membuat tinjauan di Indonesia sejauhmana drama-drama Malaysia dimainkan di televisyen Indonesia. Jangan salahkan penggiat seni Indonesia jika pihak kita sendiri yang bertanggungjawab membawa masuk filem-filem dan sinetron Indonesia untuk bersaing TV mana paling popular....

Apa dah Jadi dengan ketegasan kerajaan menangani isu kaum?

Saya terkejut juga dengan kenyataan Tan Lian Hoe, Timbalan Menteri Penerangan. Lagi terkejut bila tidak ada tindakan diambil oleh Parti Gerakan terhadapnya!! Kalau kenyataan tersebut dilakukan oleh pemimpin Melayu, saya gerenti pemimpin tersebut disumbat ikut ISA. Tapi kenapa Tan Lian Hoe boleh terlepas eh?

Asyik-asyik cerita perebutan jawatan dalam UMNO
